KidLock

Last Updated: October 19, 2026

KidLock is an Android parental control app that blocks the apps a parent chooses and shows a kid video feed of YouTube channels the parent approves. This policy describes what stays on the phone, what is sent to the KidLock server, and what YouTube and Google Play handle.

1. What We Collect

KidLock has no accounts and no sign-up. It includes no analytics and no advertising SDKs.

2. What Stays on Your Phone

Your PIN, the list of blocked apps, approved channels, watch time, settings and the chosen look are stored only on your phone. They are never sent to us.

3. The KidLock Server

To load channels and videos, KidLock talks to its own server, which runs on Cloudflare Workers and fetches data from the YouTube Data API. The app sends:

  • A random device ID the app creates for itself (a UUID). It is not tied to you or your identity.
  • The channel or video IDs being looked up.
  • The server and Cloudflare see your IP address, which is used only for rate limiting. Responses are cached for about 6 hours. The server does not log or keep anything else.

    4. YouTube

Videos play in YouTube's embedded player on the privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com host. YouTube may show its own ads, and videos marked Made for Kids get only non-personalized ads. Playback is covered by YouTube's and Google's own terms and policies.

  • YouTube Terms of Service: https://www.youtube.com/t/terms
  • Google Privacy Policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy
  • KidLock is not made by or affiliated with YouTube or Google. YouTube is a trademark of Google LLC.

    5. Payments

KidLock Pro is a subscription handled entirely by Google Play. KidLock never sees your card or payment details.

    6. Permissions

  • Usage access: used only to know which app is in front, so KidLock can tell when a blocked app opens.
  • Display over other apps: used only to draw the lock screen on top of a blocked app.
  • Foreground service and notifications: keeps the lock running and shows its notification.
  • KidLock does not read what is inside other apps.

    7. Help Emails

Help emails are sent only when you choose to send one. They include your phone model, Android version, KidLock settings and health, and the last crash if there was one. They never include your PIN, blocked app names, channels or watch history. You see everything before sending.

    8. Children's Privacy

KidLock is meant to be set up by parents. KidLock collects no personal information from children.

    9. Deleting Your Data

Uninstalling KidLock or clearing its storage removes everything it stored on your phone.

    10. Changes and Contact

We may update this policy as the app changes. The Last Updated date on this page shows the effective date of the latest revision. Questions about this policy can be sent to [email protected].
