Thank you for using Fake My Location.

This policy explains how the Android app handles location, search, and advertising data.

1. Information the App Handles

You do not need an account. The app handles the mock location you choose, including coordinates and a place name, to display and simulate that location. We do not sell your personal information.

2. Device Location and Place Search

Android requires approximate location permission for the mock-location foreground service. If you grant that permission and tap the current-location button, the app also reads your device's approximate location and uses it as the selected location. The app does not use your current location to choose a mock location unless you request it.

When you search for a place, the app sends your search text to our backend at api.fml.codemeoww.com. Our backend forwards the search to LocationIQ and returns the results to the app. These requests also carry standard network information such as your IP address. LocationIQ processes the search under its own privacy practices.

The app uses the device's geocoding service to look up an address for selected coordinates. Your device's service provider may process those coordinates under its own privacy policy.

5. Advertising

Fake My Location uses Google AdMob for interstitial and rewarded ads. The app requests non-personalized ads. Google and its advertising partners may process information such as your IP address, advertising identifier, device and diagnostic information, and ad interactions to deliver, secure, and measure ads. Their privacy policies govern this processing.

The app does not explicitly pass your selected mock coordinates or place searches to AdMob. You can watch a rewarded ad to remove ads for the rest of the current day; the app stores the completion date on your device.

6. Maps and Third-Party Services

The app uses Leaflet to display interactive maps. OpenStreetMap contributors provide standard map data and tiles. Esri and its contributors provide dark map tiles and satellite imagery. The app loads map tiles from OpenStreetMap and Esri; those providers may receive your IP address, device information, and the tile coordinates needed to show the area you view.

LocationIQ provides place search through our backend. Leaflet runs within the app and does not receive your search or location data as an online service.

7. Data Sharing and Retention

Search requests reach our backend and LocationIQ. Map requests reach OpenStreetMap or Esri when you view their tiles. AdMob receives data when the app requests ads. Saved locations and other local app data remain on your device until you clear them, clear app storage, or uninstall the app. Each service provider applies its own retention practices to data it receives.

8. Children's Privacy

Fake My Location is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Security

We take reasonable steps to limit the information handled by the app. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure.

10. Your Choices

You can stop location simulation, decline the current-location request, disable notifications in Android settings, enter coordinates instead of searching, clear saved locations, or uninstall the app. Android requires some permissions for location simulation to work.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app changes. The revised policy will be posted on this page with a new Last Updated date.
